Résumé

La pemphigoïde bulleuse (PB) est l’affection bulleuse auto-immune la plus courante. Elle touche surtout les personnes âgées de 60 à 80 ans. Des cas de pemphigoïde bulleuse induite par des médicaments et, rarement, de pemphigoïde bulleuse infantile peuvent également être observés dans les populations plus jeunes. Depuis peu, l’incidence de la PB est en augmentation, partiellement en raison de l’espérance de vie globale plus longue.

Bahar Bahrani, MD

La Dre Bahrani est dermatologue, membre du Collège royal des médecins et chirurgiens du Canada, et certifiée à titre de diplomate par l’American Board of Dermatology. Elle a terminé ses études de médecine à l’université de Saskatchewan et accompli sa résidence en dermatologie à l’université de Toronto. La Dre Bahrani exerce sa profession de dermatologue dans une clinique communautaire à Vancouver, en Colombie-Britannique. Elle est également enseignante clinique au département de dermatologie et des sciences de la peau de l’Université de la Colombie-Britannique.
